General Manager

ComSonics is seeking a dynamic, results‑driven General Manager to lead our manufacturing operations in Weyers Cave, Virginia with energy, accountability, and vision. This is a high‑impact leadership role for someone who thrives on driving operational excellence, improving profitability, and building strong, engaged teams.

As General Manager, you'll have full responsibility for the performance of our manufacturing facility: setting strategy, aligning people and processes, and ensuring we consistently deliver high‑quality products safely, efficiently, and on time. You'll partner closely with leaders across the organization to turn goals into results while fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

You'll provide leadership by translating business objectives into actionable operational plans and providing strategic leadership. From production planning and scheduling to execution and delivery, you'll ensure operations run smoothly while meeting safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Developing and leading people will be central to your success. You'll coach and mentor managers and supervisors, build strong leadership depth, and create an environment where accountability, teamwork, and innovation thrive.

You'll also own the financial performance of manufacturing operations by developing and managing budgets, monitoring KPIs, identifying cost‑saving opportunities, and driving process improvements that positively impact margins and performance.

Continuous improvement will be part of your daily mindset. You'll lead Lean manufacturing initiatives, Six Sigma projects, and technology upgrades that improve productivity, efficiency, and scalability. At the same time, you'll keep a strong customer focus, ensuring delivery commitments are met and product quality consistently exceeds expectations.

What You Bring

You'll have a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Electronics, Business Administration, or a related field, along with five or more years of progressive leadership experience (or an equivalent mix of education and experience)in a manufacturing environment and preferably with electronics manufacturing experience. You're a confident, approachable leader with strong communication skills and a proven ability to drive results through people.

You bring solid analytical and problem‑solving skills, hands‑on experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies, and a strong understanding of safety, environmental compliance, and quality systems. Comfort with ERP systems and Microsoft Office is expected, as is the ability to perform well in a fast‑paced, goal‑driven environment.
