The General Manager/Operator oversees the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, operational excellence, and a positive team culture. This role requires hands-on leadership, full P&L accountability, and the ability to perform—and coach—every position in both front and back of house.

You are the operational backbone of the restaurant, responsible for leading your team, maintaining quality standards, and driving financial performance.


Key Responsibilities

Guest Service Excellence

  • Ensure every guest receives outstanding service from arrival to departure.
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of the menu, ingredients, and procedures.
  • Resolve guest concerns with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Uphold and model the steps of service for all FOH positions.
  • Assist on the line or in FOH roles during peak hours to support team momentum.

Food Safety & Sanitation

  • Enforce strict adherence to food safety standards and sanitation procedures.
  • Oversee temp checks, line checks, cooling logs, and other compliance records.
  • Conduct internal health audits and maintain a clean, organized environment.
  • Monitor equipment and food temperatures to ensure regulatory compliance.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead by example and confidently perform any restaurant position.
  • Provide real-time coaching, feedback, and support to team members.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and scheduling efforts as needed.

Administrative & Financial Management

  • Manage cash handling, deposits, and financial documentation.
  • Complete accurate data entry and verify deliveries.
  • Follow all opening, closing, and operational checklists.
  • Maintain full responsibility for costs, labor, and overall P&L performance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Able to accept and apply constructive feedback

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual (English & Spanish)
  • Familiarity with Revel, Ctuit, Zenput, or similar systems
  • Current Food Manager certification
  • Prior experience in high-volume, fast-casual operations
  • Any state/local certifications required for food service operations

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift 25+ lbs
  • Stand for up to 8 hours at a time
  • Perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
  • Move quickly throughout the restaurant during service
  • Access and navigate all areas of the restaurant
  • Work comfortably in hot and cold kitchen environments

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Full-time, on-site
  • Day, evening, and night shifts available
  • Weekend availability required
  • Must relocate to Richmond, VA 23230 prior to starting
