About the Role
We are seeking an accomplished and hospitality-driven General Manager to lead an independent luxury boutique hotel with a robust, experience-driven Food & Beverage program in the heart of Center City Philadelphia. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role for an operator who excels in both hotel operations and destination-level F&B performance.
The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with a refined service mindset, strong financial discipline, and proven experience overseeing hotel restaurants, bars, and event-driven F&B in a luxury or boutique environment.
Key Responsibilities
Overall Hotel & Guest Experience
- Oversee all aspects of daily hotel operations, ensuring exceptional service, cleanliness, and efficiency across all departments.
- Maintain a strong, visible presence throughout the property, engaging with guests and setting the tone for service excellence.
- Uphold luxury boutique standards that emphasize personalized service, consistency, and attention to detail.
- Monitor guest feedback, online reviews, and satisfaction metrics; implement service enhancements across hotel and F&B operations.
Food & Beverage Leadership
- Provide strategic and hands-on leadership for all Food & Beverage operations, including restaurant(s), bar/lounge, private dining, and in-room dining.
- Drive F&B profitability through menu engineering, pricing strategy, labor optimization, purchasing controls, and inventory management.
- Partner with culinary leadership to ensure menu quality, consistency, and alignment with the hotel’s brand and guest expectations.
- Oversee service standards, training, and guest experience across all dining outlets.
- Analyze F&B financial performance and KPIs, including food cost, beverage cost, labor, and contribution margins.
- Collaborate on concept evolution, seasonal programming, and experiential dining initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and alcohol service regulations.
Financial & Business Performance
- Develop and manage the annual hotel and F&B operating budgets, forecasts, and business plans.
- Drive revenue performance across rooms and F&B, optimizing occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and total hotel RevPOR.
- Control expenses through disciplined labor management and cost controls across all departments.
- Review and interpret financial statements and operating reports to identify opportunities for improved profitability.
Sales, Marketing & Market Positioning
- Collaborate with sales, revenue management, and marketing partners to drive hotel demand and F&B traffic.
- Support local sales efforts and cultivate relationships with corporate, social, and community partners.
- Ensure F&B outlets are positioned as compelling, stand-alone destinations within the local market.
- Actively participate in community engagement, events, and partnerships that elevate the hotel and restaurant profile.
Team Leadership & Culture
- Recruit, train, mentor, and retain a high-performing hotel and F&B leadership team.
- Foster a service-driven culture built on accountability, professionalism, and collaboration.
- Lead department heads through clear goals, performance expectations, and regular coaching.
- Promote employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives across hotel and F&B teams.
Property, Compliance & Asset Care
- Ensure the hotel and F&B outlets are impeccably maintained, safe, and compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Oversee preventive maintenance, capital projects, and vendor relationships.
- Ensure compliance with health department standards, fire safety, ADA requirements, and alcohol licensing.
- Partner with ownership on renovation, refresh, and concept enhancement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- 3+ years of senior hotel leadership experience, with Food & Beverage leadership experience.
- Proven success leading hotel restaurants and bars in a boutique, luxury, or lifestyle environment.
- Strong understanding of hotel and F&B financials, budgeting, forecasting, and cost controls.
- Track record of driving guest satisfaction, F&B profitability, and team engagement.
- Experience in independent or lifestyle hotels strongly preferred.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a hands-on operating environment.
- Knowledge of the Philadelphia hospitality and dining market is a plus.
