Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing company, is looking to add a General Ledger Accountant to their corporate accounting team. About the Role
The General Ledger Accountant will support a wide range of corporate accounting functions including account reconciliations, journal entries, treasury activities, and sales & use tax compliance. This role will work closely with the finance team and play an important part in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting audits and financial reporting.
This position offers strong exposure to multi-jurisdictional tax filings, treasury operations, and corporate accounting processes, making it a great role for someone looking to broaden their accounting experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and account analysis to support accurate financial reporting
- Assist with daily treasury operations, including cash reconciliation, positive pay, and borrowing administration
- Prepare and file sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions, including U.S. state, local, and Canadian filings
- Research and provide guidance on sales and use tax questions across the organization
- Manage sales and use tax audits and coordinate with external consultants when needed
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Assist with external and internal audits, including preparation of supporting schedules
- Support financial reporting and disclosure schedules
- Assist with income tax provision support and compliance schedules
- Ensure accounting records are maintained in accordance with GAAP and company policies
- Document and maintain accounting procedures, workflows, and internal controls
- Participate in or lead special accounting projects
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide backup support for fixed asset accounting
- Collaborate with the broader accounting team on process improvements and cross-training
What We’re Looking For
- Strong understanding of GAAP and corporate accounting practices
- Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting support
- Familiarity with internal controls and accounting processes
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage deadlines
- Highly detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Advanced Excel skills
- SAP experience preferred
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Manufacturing industry experience is a plus
$75,000 - $84,000
