Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Serve as the lead point of contact for all legal matters, including litigation, compliance, labor law, and corporate governance.
2. Provide strategic legal advice on a broad range of issues to senior management, ensuring that the company's legal rights are protected.
3. Develop and implement company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
4. Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts, including vendor agreements, employment contracts, and confidentiality agreements.
5. Manage the company's risk profile by identifying potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, and developing strategies to mitigate those risks.
6. Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all business activities are conducted in accordance with the law and company policies.
7. Supervise and manage the performance of the legal department staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
8. Stay abreast of changes in laws and regulations that may affect the company's operations and implement necessary changes to policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney.
3. Strong knowledge of risk management and contract drafting.
4. Proven ability to provide strategic legal advice on a broad range of issues.
5. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to resolve complex legal disputes.
6. Strong leadership skills with experience in managing a team.
7. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal personnel.
8. High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
9. Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
10. Must be licensed to practice law in North Carolina (NC)
