Must be a licensed Funeral Director-Embalmer in the state of South Carolina
Funeral Home in Columbia, SC area is seeking an experienced Funeral Director/Embalmer.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
Active and In Good Standing Funeral Directing and Embalming License with the state
Funeral Director will arrange and conduct funeral and memorial ceremonies in a professional, organized, and caring manner
Care for the deceased respectfully while performing a variety of tasks, which include removals and transfers; embalming; dressing; cosmetizing; and casketing. Strong embalming skills required.
Arrange for and oversee interment or cremation of human remains
The Funeral Director will prepare necessary legal paperwork, including contracts, authorizations, death certificates and transit permits
Assist families wishing to prearrange or prepay funeral arrangements
Good understanding of computers and standard software including, MS Word, MS Excel, and Electronic Death Registry System
Ability to serve and maintain several families in a given time period
Excellent communication skills
Detail oriented
Funeral Director will need an elevated level of empathy and compassion
Ability to work weekends and evenings according to schedule
Clean driving record
