Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and SECRET CLEARED Full Stack Developer to join a dynamic software development team supporting the Department of State. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on mission-critical applications that directly support U.S. diplomatic operations, utilizing both modern technologies and legacy systems to deliver innovative solutions that serve American citizens and advance U.S. foreign policy objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement responsive, intuitive user interfaces using React.js, ensuring optimal performance, accessibility, and user experience
  • Develop and maintain dynamic web applications utilizing HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and client-side libraries such as jQuery
  • Collaborate with UX designers and stakeholders to translate requirements into functional interfaces
  • Build scalable and maintainable back-end services using Node.js (including Express framework) and the Microsoft .NET technology stack (MVC, .NET Core)
  • Design, code, test, and maintain web applications using C# and the .NET/ASP.NET Core frameworks
  • Develop and optimize Oracle database solutions using PL/SQL
  • Design and develop RESTful APIs following best practices in architecture and security
  • Implement integration solutions using Node.js to connect disparate systems and data sources efficiently
  • Deploy and manage applications on AWS cloud infrastructure
  • Work with containerized microservices using Docker and container orchestration platforms
  • Deploy software and databases through CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, and related automation tools
  • Manage source code using GitLab/GitHub, maintaining version control best practices and collaborative workflows
  • Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure code quality, security compliance, and adherence to best practices
  • Support the creation and maintenance of comprehensive technical documentation including Interface Control Documents (ICD), Software Design Specifications (SDS), and system architecture diagrams
  • Perform testing and debugging to ensure application reliability and security

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer working on enterprise-level applications
  • Strong proficiency in Oracle database development using PL/SQL
  • Expert-level knowledge of Node.js for back-end development, including frameworks such as Express
  • Demonstrated expertise in multi-tier application development using the Microsoft .NET technology stack (C#, ASP.NET MVC, .NET Core)
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, React.js, and client-side libraries (jQuery, etc.)
  • Experience with Microsoft development tools (Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code)
  • Hands-on experience deploying and managing applications on AWS
  • Proficiency with GitLab/GitHub for source code management and team collaboration
  • Experience deploying applications and databases through CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD)
  • Experience working with containerized microservices and understanding of container management principles
  • Ability to produce comprehensive technical documentation (ICD, SDS, architecture documents)

Security:

  • MUST HAVE: Active Secret clearance required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with RESTful API architecture design and development
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration
  • Experience with Apache Kafka for event streaming and data pipelines
  • Familiarity with CloudFlare and related third-party tools used in consular systems
  • Experience building applications on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Previous experience working with government agencies or on mission-critical systems
  • Understanding of federal security and compliance requirements (FISMA, FedRAMP)
