Calling Experienced Framers interested in a Career Change:
We are Training Material Estimators (NO Estimating experience necessary)
PAID TRAINING (2-3 months in Spokane) that leads to a long-term, full-time, stable, work-from-home position using your framing knowledge. Estimating experience not required, comfort with computers and a deep understanding of framing is.
We are looking for a framer who:
- Has a minimum of 7-10+ years framing experience.
- Has a thorough understanding of the framing process, materials, hardware and terminology
- Can read and interpret blueprints, schedules and details accurately
- Can catch missing information, conflicts and plan deficiencies on Blueprints
- Experienced using a Construction Calculator (Construction Master or similar)
- Solid Math Skills and a concern for accuracy and double checking
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy during repetitive, numbers-heavy work
- Able to follow instructions closely and adhere to a defined workflow/system
- Work well under pressure and consistently meet deadlines
- Comfortable working at a desk 8 hours a day
- Communicate professionally when clarifications are needed (client contact is limited but important)
- Computer skills and a comfort with tech and troubleshooting
- Dedicated home office space with reliable high speed internet (room for large drafting desk, computer and a large format printer)
- Can lift a 25lb roll of engineering paper
- Full-time (40+ hours/week) with OT availability to meet deadlines
- Able to attend full-time PAID in person training in Spokane for 1-3 months.
PAID TRAINING: $23-$25hr DOE. Once trained, position becomes full time, work at home remote and starting pay increases to $27-29/hr DOE (~ $60k/yr.)
This position requires attention to detail, focus and accuracy. You must enjoy working independently, be a self-starter and be able to consistently perform under deadline and meet performance quotas.
This is a long term stable position that the right framer can ride into retirement while using the valuable field knowledge learned on the job.
About us: We have been providing material takeoffs to the lumber industry for 22 years. We are looking for a framer interested in training on our "old school" analog estimating system and transition our workflow / process to a digital platform.
