About the Role We are seeking a Fractional Director of Operations to provide leadership support and stabilize operational processes across production and assembly functions. The consultant will drive process improvements to enhance throughput, inventory accuracy, and order fulfillment, while reducing operational risks. This role will also establish sustainable performance management systems, strengthen governance, and prepare the organization for upcoming seasonal demands.
Objectives
Improve production throughput and schedule adherence.
Successfully execute the plan for upcoming seasonal delivery.
Optimize assembly workflow and labor utilization.
Enhance warehouse inventory accuracy and control.
Reduce order fulfillment errors and shipping delays.
Improve coordination between planning, production, and warehousing.
Establish clear KPIs and accountability structures.
Strengthen operational leadership and governance.
Scope of Work
Production & Assembly Oversight
Review and improve production and assembly workflows.
Attend production meetings to set priorities and deliverables.
Create KPIs and reporting mechanisms.
Support supervisors with issue escalation and resolution.
Align scheduling with demand forecasts.
Identify and correct bottlenecks.
Evaluate labor allocation, shift structures, and safety compliance.
Deliverable: Weekly Executive Summary.
Process Improvement & Standardization
Standardize work instructions and operating procedures.
Implement visual management systems.
Improve changeover and setup processes.
Establish root cause analysis for recurring issues.
Introduce continuous improvement practices.
Expand SOP documentation.
Deliverable: SOP Package and Process Improvement Action Plan.
Workforce & Leadership Support
Coach workforce management and clarify accountability structures.
Establish escalation pathways for operational issues.
Support workforce planning and shift optimization.
Provide leadership performance guidance.
Deliverable: Operational Leadership & Governance Plan.
Transition & Knowledge Transfer
Develop sustainable performance monitoring systems.
Train internal leadership on KPI tracking tools.
Provide transition plan to internal management.
Deliver final engagement report with recommendations.
Deliverable: Final Engagement Summary and Transition.
