Estimated Annual Earnings: $80,000 - $85,000 overtime after 40 hours of work. 

Position Overview

A private family in the West Village is seeking an experienced and highly professional Formal Housekeeper to join their established household team and assist in maintaining a meticulously run private residence. This position is available as the current housekeeper is transitioning from the role, and the family is looking to identify a new candidate who can seamlessly integrate into the team.

The residence is an exceptionally formal 7-story townhouse, and the ideal candidate will have extensive experience working in high-end private homes and caring for luxury finishes and delicate surfaces. The housekeeper will work closely with a team that includes another full-time housekeeper, a laundress, chef, and house manager to ensure the home is maintained to the highest standards.

The schedule is Thursday through Sunday from 6:30 AM – 4:30 PM, with flexibility for occasional overtime and schedule adjustments, including trading days with the other housekeeper when needed. The family values a collaborative, team-oriented approach and is seeking someone with similar flexibility and professionalism. 

Training available by the staff, must have minimal knowledge and attention to detail! 

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed daily housekeeping throughout the residence, including bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas
• Maintain the home to exceptional standards of cleanliness and organization
• Carefully clean and maintain delicate materials such as marble, hardwood floors, fine furnishings, and artwork
• Utilize high-end and organic cleaning products while following established household protocols
• Assist the laundress with laundry tasks including ironing, steaming, and wardrobe care as needed
• Work collaboratively with the household team to ensure seamless daily operations
• Follow the household calendar and daily task lists to remain organized and efficient
• Assist with deep cleaning projects, seasonal tasks, and preparation for guests or special events
• Maintain discretion and professionalism while working in a formal private household environment

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a formal private residence
• Strong knowledge of caring for luxury materials, furnishings, and fine linens
• Exceptional attention to detail and high housekeeping standards
• Professional demeanor with excellent discretion and confidentiality
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a household team
• Flexibility to accommodate overtime and occasional schedule adjustments
• Strong communication skills and a service-oriented mindset
• Valid U.S. work authorization

• Ability to communicate in English and Spanish preferred
