Forklift Operator

Job Title: Forklift Operator (Warehouse / Material Handler)
Pay Rate: $19.25/hour ($18.00 base + $1.25 shift differential)
Schedule: Sunday – Thursday, 9:00 PM – 5:00 AM (Overnight Shift)
Type: Safety Sensitive | Drug Test Required

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a Forklift Operator to support material movement and warehouse operations in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment. This role involves operating various types of equipment to transport materials, maintain inventory accuracy, and support production and logistics processes while adhering to standard operating procedures and quality guidelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate forklifts and other equipment including conveyors, cranes, handcarts, and power trucks
• Move materials, parts, and finished goods throughout the warehouse or facility
• Load, unload, and transport items safely and efficiently
• Maintain accurate records of materials and inventory transactions
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality guidelines
• Work within a metrics-driven environment to meet productivity goals
• Perform routine warehouse tasks with attention to detail and accuracy
• Support general warehouse operations and additional duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1+ year of warehouse or related experience
• Forklift experience (certification or ability to obtain/maintain required certification)
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to read, write, and understand English
• Basic math skills for operational tasks
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift and move 50+ lbs
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching
• Repetitive use of hands and wrists
• Ability to work in physically demanding conditions throughout the shift

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Exposure to moving mechanical parts and warehouse equipment
• Work in hot conditions during summer (no AC) and cold conditions during winter (limited heat)
• Moderate to loud noise levels
• Possible exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and high or precarious areas

• Load from trucks using forklift
• Load and unload trucks using a forklift
• Unload product into/from trucks using forklift/pallet jack
• Complete inhouse forklift training class and the forklift evaluation before operating a forklift
• Unload trucks using forklift and other equipment
• Unload materials using a forklift
• Operate forklift truck using safe operating procedures
• Perform forklift preventative maintenance checks and attend forklift safety meetings
• Completed before operating a forklift
• Operate forklift to load/unload route trucks and inter-branch trailers
• Utilize a forklift to load and unload storage containers from delivery trucks
• Operate a sit-down/propane powered forklift or pallet jack
• Assist with ensuring a safe and clean working environment, inside and out, for assigned storage center location
• Utilizing a forklift to load and unload storage containers
• Operate a sit-down or stand-up forklift
• Unload products using forklift trucks and other material handling equipment
• Maintain and operate transport equipment (forklift, lift trucks, tow trucks)
• Operate forklift using forklift safety procedures and perform daily shift forklift checks
• Maintain inventory accuracy by ensuring proper counts and documentation
• Unload products from trailers using forklift trucks and other material handling equipment
