This forensic inpatient psychiatric unit serves as a comprehensive treatment center for individuals requiring specialized psychiatric care within the correctional system. The facility operates multiple specialized units including an Intensive Care Program, Resident Crisis Treatment Program, Residential Rehabilitation Unit, and Special Housing Unit to address diverse patient needs. The campus requires extensive walking both indoors and outdoors with multiple levels and stair navigation throughout the treatment areas.

This area features notable attractions including Watkins Glen State Park and the Corning Museum of Glass, offering opportunities for nature exploration and cultural experiences. The position requires board certification in psychiatry with active New York Medicare/Medicaid enrollment and a minimum of one year forensic experience. The clinician will work across various specialized units conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, competency assessments, and Court Ordered Psychiatric Medications evaluations for a diverse forensic population. The role demands excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary treatment teams and the ability to function independently in a demanding environment. Computer proficiency and Microsoft Word expertise are essential for maintaining accurate documentation and completing statutorily required assessments.
