Position Summary

Our Quality Assurance Technician will ensure maximum quality in a profitable manner while upholding quality control standards. Responsibilities include analyzing the efficiency of manufacturing processes, performing product testing, maintaining standards, preserving product integrity, and ensuring products meet all quality control and safety standards.

Shifts

  • 2nd shift: 2 pm to 10 pm (Monday to Friday)
  • 3rd shift: 9 pm to 5:30 am (Sunday to Thursday)

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

  • Monitor facility and personnel daily to ensure compliance with the food safety system; perform formal audits on GMPs
  • Train facility personnel on GMPs, risk preventive controls, hazard analysis, pre-requisite programs, and other food safety system elements
  • Conduct pre-operational inspections
  • Collect and analyze product samples; document and report findings
  • Maintain records of analytical results; report out-of-specification results to the QA supervisor
  • Provide documented reports and track data trends
  • Inspect raw materials and assist in investigating non-conformance and complaints
  • Host visitors, including regulatory and customer representatives, and facilitate third-party audits
  • Ensure products comply with HACCP/HARPC programs
  • Address food safety concerns and implement corrective actions
  • Assist in updating and maintaining food safety documents and procedures
  • Demonstrate innovation and proactive problem-solving
  • Prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Adhere to health, safety, and cleanliness standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned by QA supervisor and manager

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior quality assurance experience
  • Experience in food manufacturing
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations and GMPs
  • Experience with administrative tasks, including paperwork completion and reconciliation

  • Proficiency in basic Microsoft Excel

Working Conditions

  • This role involves standing and repetitive bending; ability to lift 10-35 lbs. repetitively and up to 45 lbs. occasionally; ability to push/pull up to 250 lbs. on rollers occasionally
  • Work in a wet and cold/refrigerated environment (around 35 degrees F) within a manufacturing, warehousing, and production facility
  • Potential exposure to allergenic food ingredients
