Our client, a leading innovator in transportation technology, is seeking a Fleet Support Engineer to join their team. As a Fleet Support Engineer, you will be part of the Vehicle Development department supporting the operational uptime of our fleet, with a focus on Human Machine Interface (HMI) and passenger experience systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate problem-solving skills, collaboration, and meticulous documentation, which will align successfully in the organization.

Location:Foster City, CA

Pay Range: $65-$70 per hour

What's the Job?

  • Serve as the primary technical escalation point for real-time issues related to HMI systems, including passenger displays, audio/visual alerts, interior cameras, and cabin interaction modules.
  • Conduct root cause analysis through log review (Linux/Android logs) and electrical diagnostics to resolve complex hardware and software failures.
  • Lead trend monitoring efforts by analyzing fleet data to identify failure patterns and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain troubleshooting guides to empower field technicians in resolving issues independently.
  • Perform hardware validation and functional testing for new HMI components and firmware updates, ensuring system reliability and performance.

What's Needed?

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in automotive, consumer electronics, or autonomous vehicle systems, focusing on infotainment, display technologies, or cockpit electronics.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience troubleshooting communication protocols such as LVDS, Ethernet, CAN, and LIN.
  • Familiarity with display technologies (LCD/OLED), touch controllers, and audio amplifiers.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, electrical diagrams, and connector pinouts to diagnose wiring and component failures.
