Under the supervision and direction of the Director, the Fitness Coordinator will oversee and coordinate Augusta Health Fitness's fitness programming, including development, implementation, and evaluation of group programs and services. In doing so, this individual must work closely with all members of the fitness team as well as other Augusta Health departments. The Fitness Coordinator has supervisory oversight over group fitness instructors and will collaborate with the department staffing needs with other Fitness Coordinators to meet budgetary guidelines. The Fitness Coordinator will also be responsible for the upkeep of all of the group programming space and equipment. Managerial duties as deemed necessary to include MOD rotation duties, capital, annual, and daily budgetary input, customer service, and marketing strategies. The Fitness Coordinator will also train, schedule, and evaluate group fitness team members and ensure safety protocols for all staff. The Fitness Coordinator will directly supervise all employees in their area of oversight, including hiring, scheduling, training, and discipline. The Fitness Coordinator is responsible for the overall operations, cleaning, and maintenance of the designated areas. The Fitness Coordinator is directly responsible for ordering and upkeep of equipment for the specific areas assigned. The Fitness Coordinator will also be responsible for productivity per budget, accurate monthly reporting pertaining to utilization, expenditures, revenues, special programming, and community outreach projects approved by Augusta Health. The Fitness Coordinator will share staff with other co-managers to meet FTE standards. The Fitness Coordinator will rotate “Manager on Duty” with the management team and be available to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the fitness members and staff. Collaboratively work with all Fitness Coordinators for coverage and job assignments.
Education Required:
- Bachelor's of Science in Health-Related Field or Experience in lieu of degree required.
- B.S. Degree in Exercise Science preferred.
Licensure/Certification Required:
- Fitness certification from a nationally recognized company such as ACE, AFAA, NCSF, or ACSM.
- Specialty certifications preferred, such as cycling, Les Mills, yoga, Pilates.
Experience Required:
- 3 years of experience as a fitness professional with previous management in the fitness industry.
