Fire Sprinkler Technician

Position Requirements and Responsibilities

• We are looking for Fire Sprinkler Technicians to join our team in Youngstown, Ohio.
• An active Ohio State Fire Marshal Category 1 certification is required for this position.
• Technicians will install, modify, and repair commercial fire sprinkler systems while working from approved plans and hydraulic calculations to ensure systems pass local fire department inspections.
• Technicians who also hold a Category 3 Fire Pump certification may assist with commercial fire pump installations and qualify for the top end of the pay range.

Key Duties and Technical Standards

• Install, modify, and repair commercial fire sprinkler systems
• Cut, thread, and assemble steel and CPVC sprinkler piping
• Install wet and dry sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA 13 standard
• Perform hydrostatic testing and assist with system inspections

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate final walkthroughs for fire department approvals
• Install and test commercial fire pumps (Category 3 certified technicians)

Essential Qualifications

• Active Ohio State Fire Marshal Individual Certification – Category 1 (Required)
• Minimum 2 years of field experience installing fire protection systems
• Working knowledge of NFPA 13 and the Ohio Fire Code
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Advantageous Certifications

• Ohio State Fire Marshal Category 3 Certification (Fire Pumps)
• Holding both Category 1 and Category 3 certifications qualifies for the top end of the pay range
