About the Opportunity

The Fire Sprinkler Department Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, performance, and compliance of the Fire Sprinkler Department. This position provides leadership to the service and inspection teams while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with applicable codes and standards, including those established by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and local Authorities.

The Department Supervisor works closely with company leadership, project managers, service coordinators, and field personnel to maintain operational excellence and deliver high-quality fire protection solutions to customers.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Oversight

  • Supervise day-to-day inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair activities.
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA standards (including NFPA 13 and NFPA 25), local codes, and OSHA safety requirements.
  • Review project schedules, labor assignments, and material needs.
  • Conduct job site visits to monitor productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Troubleshoot technical and operational issues as they arise.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise Lead Technicians, Inspectors, Service Coordinators and field crews.
  • Provide coaching and training.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Participate in hiring and onboarding new team members.

Financial & Administrative Management

  • Assist with department budgeting and cost control.
  • Monitor job costs, labor hours, and project profitability.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of inspections, service reports, and compliance records.

Customer & Contractor Relations

  • Serve as a point of contact for customers, inspectors, and general contractors.
  • Address customer concerns and resolve escalated issues.
  • Support estimating and proposal efforts when needed.
  • Maintain positive relationships with our customer base.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree or technical training preferred).
  • NICET certification in Water-Based Systems (Level II or higher preferred).
  • 5–8 years of fire sprinkler service and inspection experience.
  • 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of NFPA standards and local building codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and system drawings.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Financial awareness and cost-control mindset.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
