AG Consulting Engineering, PC (AG), a design, engineering, and construction management firm, is looking for an experienced Fire Protection Engineer for several PATH project in the NYC metro area..

Position:          Fire Protection Engineer

Location:         NYC metro area

Project:           PA Infrastructure Projects

 

Responsibilities

 

Design Fire Protection Systems: Develop and implement fire safety systems,

 including sprinkler systems, fire alarms, and emergency exits, tailored to various building types.

Conduct Risk Assessments: Identify and analyze fire hazards in buildings and facilities, 

developing strategies to mitigate risks and enhance safety.

Ensure Compliance: Work with local governments and regulatory bodies to ensure that fire 

safety systems meet all applicable codes and standards.

Inspect and Test Systems: Regularly inspect and test fire safety systems to ensure they are 

functioning properly and make recommendations for improvements as needed.

Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work alongside architects, builders, and other engineers to 

integrate fire safety measures into building designs and renovations.

Provide Technical Assistance: Offer guidance and support to fire departments and emergency 

responders regarding fire safety protocols and emergency response plans.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

 

Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in fire protection engineering, civil engineering, 

or a related field is typically required.

License: Professional Engineering License is preferred.

Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of fire dynamics, building codes, and fire 

protection standards is essential.

Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and develop effective fire safety strategies.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively 

collaborate with various stakeholders and present findings.

Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex fire safety challenges.

 

Work Environment

Fire Protection Engineers may work in various settings, including office environments, 

construction sites, and other facilities. The role may require site visits to assess fire safety 

systems and ensure compliance with regulations.
