Financial Systems Analyst

Role: Financial Systems Analys / Project Specialist – Compensation Accounting (Contract)
Location: Chicago, IL( Hybrid- one a week office)
Rate: $55-58/hr on W2. 
Engagement Type: 6-12 month contract

Introduction

We are seeking a professional with expertise in banking accounting to support a key transformation initiative within a Compensation Accounting function. This role will focus on transitioning commission-related data from a legacy system to a new data source, ensuring accuracy, continuity, and alignment across systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in commission accounting, data validation, and system/data migration projects, along with the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in data analysis within accounting or finance environments
• Direct experience with commission accounting
• Strong understanding of data structures, transformations, and reconciliation processes
• Experience supporting system or data migration / transformation initiatives
• Ability to work independently and manage project-based deliverables
• Advanced Excel skills (data analysis, validation, and manipulation)
• Experience working with Access or similar legacy database tools
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Banking or financial services experience
• Experience within accounting or controllership functions
• Exposure to system implementations or modernization efforts
• Experience working with large and complex datasets

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Support migration from legacy commission data sources to a new system
• Perform data validation and reconciliation between legacy and new datasets (parallel testing)
• Analyze discrepancies and ensure data integrity throughout the transition
• Assist in maintaining day-to-day accounting operations during system changes
• Partner with finance, accounting, and business teams to support data accuracy and reporting
• Track project tasks, follow up on dependencies, and help drive timelines forward
• Document data flows, transformation logic, and validation processes
• Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting as needed
