About the job

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. While working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to solve big picture challenges.

In this role, you will create financial models and drive strategic analyses to investigate business questions impacting the YouTube Creator Ecosystem. You will lead projects, provide analytical support, and develop a Finance point of view (POV) for several creator-centric initiatives, including brand sponsorships and paid creator promotion. You will help build an understanding of cause and effect between product updates or strategic investments and creator earnings across various surfaces and products, using these insights to inform decision making and financial long-term and annual planning.

As a key contributor in a high-energy environment, you will analyze financial data to generate data-driven solutions and communicate insights to leadership. You are experienced in complex financial modeling and can identify business issues while partnering effectively with cross-functional teams, including product activation/GTM and product.

You will be organized, entrepreneurial, and take initiative capable of making recommendations based on ambiguous or incomplete data.

The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $113,000-$162,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Learn more about benefits at Google.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and model the financial impact of various strategic funding initiations, distribution deals, and incentive programs, developing data-driven Finance POVs on how to maximize long-term value for YouTube.
  • Own discretionary tracking and management for relevant programs, and partner with the CAC team to incorporate new information into the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Long Range Plan (LRP).
  • Work cross-functionally to support decision-making for new spend initiatives and business trade-offs, developing and representing a Finance POV to help drive the organization toward the right long-term outcomes and ensuring that financial considerations are taken into account where appropriate across product launches and GTM efforts impacting creator monetization.
  • Use structured thinking, complex modeling, and investigative insights to influence the core economics of emerging initiatives.
