Job Description:

How You’ll Perform the Role:

We are looking for a dynamic Finance Manager to drive financial leadership across two fast‑paced manufacturing plants. This role is a key strategic partner to both plant and corporate leadership—championing cost efficiency, fueling margin expansion, and optimizing working capital to support strong operational performance.

Reporting to the Finance Director, with a dotted‑line to operations leadership, this is a high‑impact, hands‑on role designed for a finance leader who excels at blending accounting expertise with sharp analytical insight and strong operational partnership. We’re looking for someone who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves, dive into the details, and then elevate the conversation with strategic thinking that enhances reporting, streamline processes, and influences decisions across the organization.

This position goes far beyond the role of traditional plant controller. It offers broad exposure, meaningful visibility, and the opportunity to make a real difference in a dynamic manufacturing environment—perfect for someone who thrives on solving complex, cross‑functional challenges and driving results that matter.

 

  • Support operations and financial management teams with reporting, data analytics and ad hoc projects. 
  • Identify risks and opportunities and support standard cost processes
  • Partner with plant managers and operations leaders to identify and track against cost-saving opportunities.
  • Provide business leaders with actionable financial insights and data to support strategic business decision-making.
  • Monitor and report on key cost drivers: labor, materials, overhead, and logistics.
  • Significant involvement in operations planning and financial forecasting/budgeting.
  • Support capital investment decisions and evaluate ROI on major projects.
  • Self-starter that is responsible for monthly analyses of production data and operational metrics.
  • Support Novolex digital transformation activities by expanding the use of tools such as Power BI, OneStream, Blue Yonder, and Hyperion.
  • Collaborate with IT to improve data integrity.

What We Need from You:

  • BA/BS required with emphasis in finance or accounting with 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication and decision-making skills with an ability to anticipate the needs of the stakeholders and take quick action to satisfy.
  • Experience collaborating and working successfully with stakeholders, cross-functional teams, with demonstrated strength handling competing priorities.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
  • Excellent data analysis, management, and visualization skills, including advanced experience with Power BI.
  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel) and HFM/Essbase.
  • High initiative, Self-Starter, Able to manage tight timelines/deadlines.
