Role Overview

We are seeking a Head of Finance to own business finances, FP&A, KPIs, and financial strategy, while overseeing and supervising our third-party accounting and bookkeeping partners. This role is ideal for a finance leader who thrives in fast-paced startup environments and is excited to drive strategic decision-making through data, modeling, and financial insight.

This role partners closely with the CEO and leadership team to bring clarity, rigor, and foresight to financial planning, performance management, and company-wide decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Leadership & Ownership

  • Own business finance, FP&A, KPI framework, and financial planning
  • Serve as the primary finance partner to the CEO and leadership team
  • Supervise and manage third-party finance and accounting partners, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and quality of reporting

Business Finance, KPIs & Performance Management (Core Focus of the Role)

  • Own and define company-wide financial and operational KPIs
  • Build and maintain leadership dashboards, for example covering:
  • Revenue, ARR, growth, and pipeline metrics
  • Burn rate, runway, and cash utilization
  • Gross margin, unit economics, and cost structure
  • CAC, payback, sales efficiency, and GTM performance
  • Partner with GTM, Product, and Operations leaders to:
  • Track performance against plans
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Translate data into clear, actionable insights
  • Establish a consistent monthly and quarterly performance review cadence

FP&A & Strategic Planning

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting cycles
  • Develop and maintain short- and long-term financial models
  • Own scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to support strategic decisions
  • Support leadership on:
  • Hiring plans and headcount modeling
  • Pricing and packaging decisions
  • Investment prioritization and trade-offs
  • Prepare financial narratives and materials for board and investor discussions

Oversight of Accounting & Financial Operations

  • Oversee third-party accounting partners responsible for:
  • Month-end and year-end close
  • General ledger, reconciliations, and accruals
  • AP/AR, payroll coordination, and expense management
  • Review and validate financial outputs for accuracy and completeness
  • Ensure GAAP compliance and appropriate internal controls through partner oversight
  • Coordinate audits, tax filings, and external advisors as needed

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5–7+ years of experience in strategic finance, FP&A, or business finance roles
  • Strong experience in financial modeling, forecasting, KPIs, and performance analysis
  • Prior experience working in a VC-backed startup or high-growth environment
  • Experience overseeing or managing third-party accounting / finance providers
  • Solid understanding of SaaS metrics and financial best practices
  • Comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels (analysis, models, dashboards).
