Pay Rate: $19.00 - $21.00 per hr.

We are seeking a hands-on, entry-level IT Technician to support hardware setup, new hire onboarding, and general IT support at our Kingwood facility. This role begins as a contract position with strong potential to convert to a permanent role for the right candidate. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable providing both technical and onboarding support in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
Contract Phase (Initial Months):

  • Unbox and set up monitors, docking stations, keyboards, mice, and power strips.
  • Build and test ~145 cubicles and ~50 seats in training rooms.
  • Ensure power, network, and equipment functionality.
  • Provide basic break-fix support for laptops, desktops, and peripherals (imaging, data transfer, troubleshooting).
  • Assist batches of ~20 new hires with initial login, BitLocker setup, Wi-Fi connection, and device orientation.
  • Provide day-to-day IT support for new employees.
  • Lift and transport printers or other equipment up to 75 pounds; heavier items handled as two-person tasks.

Permanent Role (Post-Conversion):

  • Perform travel to surrounding branch locations as needed (~2–3 days/week).
  • Full repair and maintenance of Client computers and Lexmark printers, including system board repairs, printer disassembly/reassembly, and device reprogramming.
  • Complete mandatory Client and Lexmark certification programs (online-based; no fees).
  • Lift and transport printers or other equipment up to 75 pounds; heavier items handled as two-person tasks.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Eight (8) year's experience working with computers, printers, peripherals, network hardware, software, firmware, and operation systems
  • Basic experience with Windows PCs; minimal Apple support knowledge is helpful.
  • Comfortable working with Client computers and Lexmark printers.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow technical procedures and maintain attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and complete required certifications.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 75 pounds safely.

Travel & Driving Requirements

  • Travel required for branch support (~30–90 min trips; occasional 3–4 hour trips).
  • Regions conducts an annual driving check through HR for candidates who will travel:
  • Provide driver's license and driving history.
  • Verification conducted via third-party vendor to ensure safe driving record.
  • Company provides vehicles, gas cards, and credit cards for maintenance (oil changes, tires, etc.).
