A highly reputable OEM/service organization is seeking a Field Service Technician / Field Service Engineer to support customers across the United States. This role focuses on installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of industrial manufacturing equipment. You will work independently in the field while being backed by a strong technical support team.

Must live within 1 hour of any major airport.

75% of this role requires travel throughout the United States

Job Details

Key Responsibilities

Install, commission, and start up industrial equipment with a strong focus on electrical systems and controls integration
Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults including control panels, PLC systems, sensors, VFDs, drives, HMIs, and safety circuits
Interpret wiring diagrams, ladder logic, schematics, and panel layouts to identify and resolve system issues
Perform electrical testing using multimeters and other diagnostic tools to trace voltage, continuity, and signal problems
Support equipment calibration, parameter adjustments, and control system optimization
Work closely with engineering and controls teams to resolve escalated electrical and automation issues
Complete detailed service documentation outlining electrical findings, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
Deliver professional, technically sound support to customers onsite

Required Qualifications

3+ years of hands-on experience in field service, industrial maintenance, or electrical troubleshooting
Strong background in electrical controls, PLC systems, motor controls, and industrial automation
Experience troubleshooting control panels, sensors, proximity switches, photo eyes, drives, and 3-phase systems
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings
Familiarity with industrial automation in packaging or thermoforming environments preferred
Comfortable traveling extensively and working independently in customer facilities
