Contract Details
- Position Type: Contract

- Travel: Overnight travel required (approximately 10–60%, territory dependent)
Job Summary
The Field Service Engineer (FSE) is responsible for the installation, repair, preventive maintenance, validation, and qualification of water purification systems within the assigned territory. This role delivers professional, timely service while ensuring compliance with customer site requirements, safety standards, and company procedures. The FSE will also provide backup support to neighboring territories as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, maintain, validate, and qualify water purification systems
- Complete preventive maintenance within required timelines and respond to service requests per customer agreements
- Accurately complete and close work orders daily, including all related documentation
- Provide customers with service documentation (Service Reports, Meter Verification Reports, Routine Maintenance records, etc.)
- Maintain an accurate daily schedule, proactively communicate with customers, and escalate risks to customer satisfaction
- Maintain physical consignment inventory per SOPs and ensure inventory accuracy
- Maintain tools and test equipment in proper working order and calibration
- Generate leads for hardware, consumables, accessories, and service contracts via CRM
- Communicate professionally and effectively with customers and internal teams, including emergency response within required SLAs
- Adhere to NA Fleet Vehicle Policy and submit expense reports bi-weekly
- Assist with custom engineered system installations as directed
- Meet customer site requirements such as vendor credentialing, background checks, and immunizations
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Previous water filtration experience (required)
- Associate’s degree in Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical/military experience
- OR High School Diploma/GED with 3+ years of field service or skilled trade experience
- Minimum 1 year of field service or applicable skilled trade experience
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and test equipment (meters, test boxes)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle difficult customers and situations professionally
- Basic IT skills (software uploads, inter-equipment communication, iPad/iPhone use)
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Ability to lift 50 lbs independently and up to 165 lbs with assistance
- Clean driving record; eligible for rental vehicle use
- Valid passport or ability to obtain one
Travel & Work Conditions
- Overnight travel required based on territory and coverage needs
- Work outside normal business hours as required, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Customer environments may include clinical settings requiring emergency response
