FAI Document Support

Position Summary

The Temporary FAI Documentation Support Specialist is responsible for completing and compiling First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation packages in accordance with AS9102 requirements. This is a fast-paced, high-volume administrative role focused strictly on documentation processing. The position does not include inspection, measurement, or product acceptance authority. Training will be provided on Discus and Net-Inspect systems.

Core Responsibilities

• FAI Documentation Processing
  • Complete AS9102 Forms 1, 2, and 3.
  • Transfer ballooned drawing characteristics into Form 3.
  • Capture all drawing notes, dimensions, tolerances, and special process requirements.
  • Transcribe inspection results provided by authorized Quality Inspectors.
  • Validate revision levels across drawings, travelers, and purchase orders.
  • Prepare complete, organized, audit-ready FAI packages.
• Record Compilation & Traceability
  • Collect and organize:
    • Material certifications
    • Special process certifications
    • Certificates of Conformance
    • Supporting objective evidence
  • Verify traceability to correct part number, lot number, and serial number.
  • Identify and escalate missing or inconsistent documentation.
• System Processing
  • Upload and process FAI documentation in:
    • Discus (training provided)
    • Net-Inspect (training provided)
  • Maintain FAI tracking logs using Microsoft Excel.
  • Ensure documentation aligns with internal QMS and customer submission requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English clearly and professionally.
• Proficient in:
  • Microsoft Excel (required)
  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Microsoft Office applications
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Ability to follow structured processes consistently.

Preferred Experience

• Aerospace or manufacturing documentation experience.
• Familiarity with AS9102 FAI requirements.
• Experience working with ERP or quality systems.

Performance Expectations

• High data-entry speed with accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple FAI packages simultaneously.
• Minimal rework due to documentation errors.
• On-time completion of assigned FAI packages.

Authority Limitations

This position:

• Does not perform inspections
• Does not take measurements
• Does not determine product conformity
• Does not release product
• Does not sign Certificates of Conformance
