SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To maintain the overall condition of the building and grounds for Buffalo Area Services and associated Buffalo Area Corps. To ensure the maintenance and day-to-day operability of the vehicle fleet at Buffalo Area Services and supervise a maintenance, custodial, and shipping/receiving staff of 4-8 workers.
Responsibilities:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Supervise a maintenance, custodial, and shipping/receiving staff of 5-7 workers.
- Review and assign maintenance requests to staff daily and follow up to ensure timely completion.
- Maintain buildings and vehicles, ensuring safety/security policies, procedures, and compliance.
- Ensure that licenses, registrations, and inspections are up to date for facilities and vehicles.
- Develop and execute long-range facilities planning in conjunction with the Director of Operations and appropriate project management staff.
- Pursue an aggressive program of preventive maintenance for facilities and vehicles.
- Replace electrical components when the components fail.
- Perform all scheduled maintenance on refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
- Manage daily computer inventory of maintenance, custodial supplies, food items and their intended disposition.
- Maintain domestic water systems throughout facility, which includes all repairs on plumbing components.
- Maintain inventory and maintenance of the Emergency Services Canteen.
- Act on behalf of The Salvation Army in emergency disaster situations.
- Coordinate a respond to all 2-alarm or larger fires, or as requested by municipal agencies.
- Provide disaster relief services as outlined in Buffalo Area Services emergency disaster plan.
- Provide input into selection of vendors and contractors for facilities projects and vehicle maintenance.
- Monitor and provide security for all Buffalo Area Services buildings and grounds.
- Provide or arrange for 24-hour on-call coverage for mechanical or facilities emergencies.
- Comply with all policies and regulations as outlined in the official Salvation Army Employee Handbook.
- Publicly represent The Salvation Army on behalf of the Area Coordinator and Director of Operations.
- Participate in all other duties and activities as requested or assigned.
