Facilities Maintenance Associate I
Full-time (40 hours/week)
Reports to: Director of Facilities
THE POSITION
The Facilities Maintenance Associate I will be an integral part of the team at The
Gathering by ensuring that buildings are cleaned, well-maintained and ready to welcome
all who come through our doors. If you are someone who has an interest in gaining
hands-on experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, janitorial, and other
building trades - and enjoy working with your hands - This position is ideal for you.
This role will offer lots of opportunities to learn through work, problem solve and be part of
a mission-driven team that seeks to serve others through Christ.
*NO 24 hour on-call
*NO required certifications
*This position is ideal for someone who is looking to start or advance their career in
maintenance.

THE QUALIFICATIONS
- Dependable, responsible, and self-motivated.
- Able to reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time. Must have the
ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds, climb ladders, and/or use lifts to heights over 30 feet
- High School Diploma or Equivalency required
- Demonstrate at least some basic skills in at least some of the following trades: carpentry,
plumbing, electric, HVAC, masonry, roofing, drywall/painting, grounds maintenance, and
janitorial. (We are willing to train the right candidate)
- Good organizational and planning skills, and an ability to work independently and with teams
of staff and volunteers as needed
- Computer literacy; proficiency in Microsoft products and/or Google tools is preferred.

- Current valid driver's license an acceptable driving record; must have transportation
- Must have basic hand tools

- Building Maintenance: Assist the team with light carpentry, basic plumbing repair, basic
electrical repair, light bulbs, basic wall repair, painting as needed, basic masonry repair,
cleaning gutters, flashing and other exterior repairs, and minor repairs to mechanical, electrical
and HVAC systems and equipment, and assess functionality of all safety systems
- Janitorial: oversee cleaning contractors and inventory supplies. Perform deep cleaning such
as high dusting, periodically cleaning windows, shampooing carpets, etc.. Occasionally
ensuring trash is emptied, sweeping, mopping, check paper towel/toilet paper/soap
dispensers, etc., especially on contractor off days.
- Grounds Maintenance: Working with volunteers to maintain shrubs, weeding, mulching,
trimming, repairing exterior walkways, parking lot cracks and holes, exterior sign
maintenance, litter, pest control and minor snow removal.
- Other: set up and teardown for events as needed, equipment assembly, keep storage
organized, assist with setup of new systems and equipment and other duties as assigned
