TradeSTAR is actively hiring experienced Telecommunications Technicians for multiple commercial projects across the Austin area. What You ll Do

Level I Technicians (6 months 2 years experience):

Pull, route, and label Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cable
Install support structures (J-hooks, bridle rings, cable tray)
Perform basic terminations (110 blocks, keystones, patch panels)
Assist with closet buildouts and cable organization
Support testing teams with basic cable verification

Level II Technicians (2 4 years experience):

Install and terminate copper and fiber cabling (including patch panels & 66 blocks)
Read blueprints and determine cable pathways
Perform cable testing, troubleshooting, and documentation
Assist with fiber terminations and certification testing
Lead small crews (3 7 techs) and support job site coordination

Level III Technicians (5+ years experience):

Lead large crews (7 30 techs) on commercial structured cabling projects
Perform advanced fiber and copper testing, certification, and documentation
Conduct site surveys, assist with bidding, and project planning
Oversee full installation scope from rough-in to final turn-up
Ensure quality control, timelines, and safety standards are met
Work with manufacturer standards (Leviton, Panduit, Ortronics, etc.)
What We re Looking For
Experience in commercial structured cabling or telecom installations
Ability to pull, terminate, and test low voltage cabling systems
Blueprint reading skills (Level II & III)
Leadership experience for higher-level roles
Familiarity with EIA/TIA standards
BICSI certifications are a plus (especially for Level III)
Reliable transportation and strong work ethic

Pay & Benefits
Level I: $18 $22/hr
Level II: $22 $28/hr
Level III: $28 $35+/hr (based on experience & certifications)
