QUALIFICATIONS
  • Licensed with 2+ years of experience at a barbershop.
  • Be a proactive, self-starter, with a can-do attitude! Bring positive energy.
  • Be capable and ready to approach any customer and engage in casual conversation makes them feel welcomed and special at our shop.
  • Skin fades, tapers, shear work - everything having to do with cutting mens hair.
  • Straight razor shave (head and/or face) with hot towel treatment.
  • Be a fast learner, ready to rethink old methods and try new things.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Put the customer first, in everything you do.
  • Master the style of service we provide, and train other barbers.
  • Work as a team. Our philosophy is that each individual barber (and the shop) will succeed if we are all looking out for each other’s best interests, not just our own.
  • Each barber will have required minimum shifts, including opening and closing times. However, our approach to this is flexible, so you’ll have plenty of opportunity to cut hair.
  • While we have a cleaning service at our shop (at no charge to our barbers), we expect our barbers to keep their station and our common areas clean. For example, we have rotations for additional sweeping, laundry, and bathroom checking duties.
  • Provide clarity for customers as they walk-in (for example confirming appointments or adding them to the waitlist, and offering refreshments), even if you won’t be working on them.

We’re hiring licensed barbers who are skilled and experienced with established clientele. We expect these barbers can handle a wide variety of clients/styles reliably. They will be asked to continuously find ways up level our services, as well as to always be learning, and have no ego about their own skill level. They'll also be asked to train or guide other Barbers of any level and assist with shop operations. For example, reviewing every Apprentice’s haircut and step-in to help when/where needed.

  • Pay guaranty: If your commission averages below your hourly pay (which will be determined at hiring) then you’ll be paid at least that hourly rate - even if the shop has a slow week. And either way, you keep 100% of your tips on top of that.

  • Our barbershop’s liability insurance policy helps cover you.
  • Paid vacation time: Earn up to 6 days (48 hours) of paid vacation time each year.

  • Holiday Schedules and Pay: Paid time off options will be available for Employees scheduled to work New Year’s (Jan 1), Independence Day (July 4), Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day (Dec 25).
