The YMCA of Greater Richmond is seeking a transformational HR leader shaping the future of our people strategy. As the Executive Director of Human Resources, you'll partner closely with the CHRO to lead enterprise-wide initiatives across total rewards, culture, engagement, performance, and compliance. This is a high-impact role for a bold, strategic thinker who thrives on driving change, building strong teams, and elevating the employee experience.
What You'll Lead
- Total Rewards Innovation: Build competitive, equitable compensation and benefits strategies that attract and retain top talent.
- Culture & Engagement: Spark belonging, alignment, and organizational pride through dynamic engagement and recognition programs.
- Performance Excellence: Strengthen leadership capability, ensure consistent performance practices, and guide succession planning.
- Compliance & Risk: Safeguard the organization through strong policy governance, investigations, and employment law compliance.
- People Leadership: Coach and develop HR leaders while championing DEI, learning, and continuous improvement.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field.
- At least 5 years of progressive HR leadership experience across compensation, performance, and compliance.
- Expertise in total rewards and employment law.
- Executive presence, strategic mindset, and strong communication skills.
- Passion for culture-building, operational excellence, and data-driven decision-making.
- Schedule flexibility. Typical business hours are 9am-5pm, Monday -Friday. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be needed due to special events or circumstances.

Starting Salary: $80,000 per year (based on experience and qualifications)
