We're seeking an experienced and passionate Executive Chef to lead the kitchen at our restaurant in the heart of Nantucket. This role is ideal for a chef who wants to experience the rhythm of a seasonal island, values local relationships, and can create a menu that resonates with both year-round locals and a loyal returning summer crowd.
What You'll Do:
Lead and inspire a tight-knit kitchen team in a fast-paced, seasonal environment
Develop menus that blend rustic Italian tradition with fresh, coastal New England influences
Highlight high-quality, seasonal ingredients working with local purveyors whenever possible
Ensure consistency, quality, and execution during both shoulder season and peak summer service
Manage food costs, inventory, and kitchen operations with efficiency and care
Foster a positive, professional kitchen culture rooted in teamwork and accountability
What We're Looking For:
Proven experience as an Executive Chef or Senior Sous Chef, ideally in a bistro or Italian-focused kitchen
Strong foundation in house-made pastas and simple, ingredient-driven dishes
Experience working in seasonal or resort markets understanding volume swings and staffing challenges
A leadership style that builds loyalty and keeps teams returning season after season
Strong organizational and communication skills
A genuine appreciation for Nantucket's community and hospitality culture
