We're Looking for You:
The Event Planning Assistant will help grow the annual Fire in the Pines Festival within the community and assist with marketing through social media and design. They will help coordinate with partner agencies in the organization and logistics of the festival. They will be responsible for maintenance of festival supplies and equipment. The Assistant has frequent interaction with staff throughout the program and with partner agencies. The ideal candidate will be outgoing, have excellent communication skills, and be able to develop relationships with exhibitors and community leaders.
RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE
- Does not supervise any staff;
- Duties are performed according to instructions or established practices; supervisor will resolve any problems or questions;
- May help plan the work of volunteers or interns;
- May purchase equipment and supplies as provided for in budget and in consultation with supervisor;
- May serve as a team member for assigned work teams;
- Travel occasionally to support fieldwork in remote and potentially dangerous sites;
- Work overtime as needed; and
- Work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.
- This position is 7 hours a week from mid April until mid-October with hours increasing around the festival date.

This position requires a valid driver's license and compliance with TNC's Auto Safety Program. Employees may not drive Conservancy-owned/leased vehicles, rental cars, or personal vehicles on behalf of the Conservancy if considered "high risk drivers." Employment in this position will be contingent upon completion of a Vehicle Use Agreement, which may include a review of the prospective employee's motor vehicle record.
Salary Information:
The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $15.50 - $17.50 per hour. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate's actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
