Salary Range: $54,000 - $86,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Calculate manufacturing costs, including raw materials, labor, equipment, tooling, and overhead.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and sales teams to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
• Source and obtain quotes from suppliers for specialized materials, components, or outsourced processes.
• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates and proposals for customer bids and internal projects.
• Identify and assess potential risks or opportunities that could impact cost or production schedules.
• Maintain and update a comprehensive database of historical cost data, vendor pricing, and production rates.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, fabrication, assembly) and materials.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications (including GD&T).
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP/MRP and estimating software.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for manufacturing cost analysis
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for material take-offs
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles
• Professional certification in estimating (e.g., AACE International, ASPE)
