Salary Range: $58,000 - $90,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Calculate manufacturing costs, including raw materials, labor, equipment, and overhead.
• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates and quotations for potential projects and customer requests.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and production teams to gather necessary information for comprehensive estimates.
• Source and obtain competitive pricing for raw materials, components, and outsourced services from suppliers.
• Identify and assess potential risks and opportunities related to cost and production schedules.
• Maintain and update a database of historical cost data and pricing information for future reference.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and labor costing principles.
• Demonstrated proficiency with ERP systems, estimating software, and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills for accurate cost breakdown and financial analysis.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with sales, engineering, production, and suppliers.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification.
• Proficiency with advanced data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL, advanced Excel modeling) for cost trend analysis.
• Experience with specific niche manufacturing processes relevant to the company's operations (e.g., additive manufacturing, complex assembly, specialized finishing).
• Familiarity with ERP system configuration or optimization related to costing modules.
• Demonstrated experience in applying predictive analytics or AI/ML tools for cost estimation.
