Key Responsibilities

• Review blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Calculate material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs for manufacturing projects.
• Obtain and analyze quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for raw materials and services.
• Prepare detailed and competitive price quotations for customers.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and production teams to ensure estimate accuracy and feasibility.
• Maintain and update historical cost data to refine future estimations.
• Identify potential risks and opportunities associated with cost estimates.

Recommended Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, material costs, labor rates, and overhead calculation.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP/MRP systems or specialized estimating software.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) or specialized estimating software.
• Experience using CAD/CAM software for viewing and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Understanding of supply chain dynamics and material procurement processes.
