Salary Range: $55,000 - $87,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to determine project scope and requirements.
• Calculate material quantities and costs based on engineering drawings and current market prices.
• Estimate labor hours and associated costs for manufacturing processes, including setup and production.
• Incorporate overhead, profit margins, and other indirect costs into comprehensive estimates.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and production teams to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
• Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and proposals for internal review and external client presentations.
• Review and analyze vendor and subcontractor bids for materials and services.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, fabrication, assembly, finishing).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP/MRP systems or specialized estimating software.
• Proven ability to analyze material, labor, and overhead costs to develop accurate and competitive bids.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ERP/MRP systems or specialized estimating software.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and their application to cost reduction.
• Strong negotiation skills or experience with vendor management/supply chain.
• Proficiency in data analysis for cost modeling and forecasting.
