Salary Range: $60,000 - $92,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Calculate material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs for manufacturing projects.
• Obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for necessary materials and services.
• Develop comprehensive and competitive cost estimates and proposals for customer inquiries and bids.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and production teams to ensure accurate and feasible estimates.
• Maintain and update estimating databases, pricing structures, and historical cost data.
• Review and analyze actual project costs against estimated costs to identify variances and improve future accuracy.

Recommended Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, fabrication, assembly) and their cost drivers.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP/MRP or specialized estimating software.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills for accurate cost calculation and data analysis.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) or specialized estimating software
• Hands-on experience or deep technical understanding of specific manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, welding, fabrication)
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles
• Ability to interpret or work with CAD software for material take-offs and process planning
