Job Details

Are you a seasoned professional with a knack for accurate forecasting and a passion for the construction industry? If so, we are seeking a Permanent Estimator to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in our organization as you will be instrumental in driving our projects from conception to completion by providing accurate cost estimations. You will be part of a vibrant team of construction professionals, working on a variety of challenging projects and utilizing your skills to contribute to our overall success. This is a full-time, permanent position with an attractive benefits package.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop comprehensive, detailed project cost estimates from the preliminary design phase through the construction phase of a project.
2. Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
3. Conduct risk assessment to identify potential issues and provide risk mitigation strategies.
4. Collaborate with engineers, architects, clients, and contractors on estimates.
5. Utilize software for data analysis, forecasting and budgeting, such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and On-Screen Takeoff.
6. Participate in project bidding, preparing thorough, accurate and timely estimates.
7. Provide cost management and scheduling support to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
8. Review project progress to ensure costs are in line with forecasts, identifying variances and recommending corrective action where necessary.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating or a related field.
2. Proven expertise in project bidding, construction estimating, cost management, cost analysis, construction management, scheduling, and risk assessment.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and On-Screen Takeoff or similar software.
4. Strong analytical and numerical skills, with an ability to create and interpret complex spreadsheets.
5. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
6. A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
