Key Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Calculate material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs for manufacturing projects.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and production teams to gather necessary information for estimates.
• Prepare and submit comprehensive quotes and proposals to clients.
• Maintain and update a database of material costs, labor rates, and supplier information.
• Identify and implement cost-reduction strategies without compromising product quality.
• Review and analyze historical data to improve the accuracy of future estimates.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, material costs, labor rates, and overhead.
• Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems and dedicated estimating software.
• Demonstrated ability to perform detailed cost analysis and develop comprehensive quotes.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with specific manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, injection molding).
• Proficiency in advanced estimating software or ERP costing modules.
• Background in supply chain management or procurement.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
