The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Caledonia seeking Estimators who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Calculate material, labor, and overhead costs for manufacturing projects and products.
• Prepare detailed and accurate price quotes for customers based on specifications and blueprints.
• Analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Material (BOMs) to determine manufacturing processes and resource requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to optimize cost-efficiency and identify value engineering opportunities.
• Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for raw materials, components, and outsourced services.
• Maintain and update cost databases, historical data, and pricing models to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
• Identify and assess potential risks and opportunities related to cost, schedule, and technical requirements in new projects.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, fabrication, assembly) and their associated costs.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for cost modeling and data analysis.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and specialized estimating software.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for detailed part analysis.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency in a major ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for cost data extraction and analysis.
• Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) or Value Engineering concepts.
