Key Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to accurately determine project scope.
• Calculate and compile comprehensive cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and overhead.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, sales, and production teams to gather necessary data.
• Prepare detailed and competitive proposals, quotes, and bid packages.
• Maintain and update cost databases, pricing models, and historical data for future reference.
• Utilize specialized estimating software and tools to enhance efficiency and precision.
• Identify potential risks and opportunities related to cost and schedule during the estimation process.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, technical specifications, and CAD drawings.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to accurately calculate material, labor, and overhead costs.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience using ERP/MRP systems for cost data.
• Solid understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, fabrication, assembly).

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with specialized estimating software or ERP costing modules (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
• Experience reading and interpreting CAD drawings (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Understanding of manufacturing cost accounting principles.
