Key Responsibilities

• Calculate detailed material, labor, and overhead costs for manufacturing projects.
• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates and proposals for customer inquiries.
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and CAD models to determine manufacturing requirements.
• Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for specialized components or services.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize manufacturing processes and reduce costs.
• Identify potential cost savings and value engineering opportunities during the estimation process.
• Maintain and update cost databases, pricing models, and historical project data.

Recommended Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, labor costs, and overhead.
• Demonstrated ability in cost analysis, data interpretation, and complex mathematical calculations.
• Experience with ERP systems and specialized estimating software.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for cost data extraction and analysis.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or value engineering methodologies.
• Experience utilizing CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for design interpretation and material takeoff.
• Understanding of global supply chain dynamics and commodity market trends affecting material costs.
