A highly regarded law firm in Northern Michigan is seeking an experienced Estate Planning Attorney to join its thriving practice offering the flexibility to work fully remote. The firm is open to someone working 100% remote. The firm is specifically based out of Cadillac, MI so if a candidate is local they may opt to do a hybrid schedule if preferred.
While the firm handles multiple areas of law, this role is dedicated exclusively to estate planning including drafting/reviewing estate planning documents (wills, trusts, etc.) and other related responsibilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a Michigan-licensed attorney who enjoys drafting estate plans, working independently, and building long-term client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Draft and review estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related instruments
- Advise clients on estate planning strategies tailored to their individual and family needs
- Occasionally handle related matters such as guardianships and conservatorships (experience here is a plus, but not required)
- Manage files efficiently while meeting deadlines in a remote work environment
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and internal team members
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience practicing estate planning (required)
- Strong drafting skills and working knowledge of estate planning documents
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload in a remote setting
- Licensed and in good standing in the applicable jurisdiction(s)
- Experience with guardianships or conservatorships is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $90,000 – $140,000+ (dependent on experience)
- Bonus potential available
