Dedicated to serving those who defend the US and warfighters, Nisga’a MOSTT offers Military Operations support and Specialized Tactical Training (MOSTT). Nisga’a MOSTT’s services include aviation and military training, cybersecurity, intelligence gathering and analysis, and simulation and exercise support, as well as aviation flight logistics support and unmanned aerial vehicle support.
Summary:
The Equipment Operator Advanced Instructor will provide support for the Naval Construction Training Center located in Gulfport, MS. The Equipment Operator Advanced Instructor is responsible for providing comprehensive training to employees on the operation, maintenance, and safety protocols of equipment. This position ensures that operators achieve proficiency in advanced techniques, adhere to company and regulatory standards, and prioritize safety.
Responsibilities:Essential Job Functions:
- Provide advanced technical training to perform Transportation Supervisor duties, transport hazardous materials, plan line hauls, and operate manual truck tractors using technical references, in normal field conditions.
- Provide advanced technical training to utilize geographic information systems to perform horizontal construction, trenching and road construction and maintenance using technical references, in normal field conditions.
- Provide advanced technical training to safely perform soil stabilization and asphalt operations in normal field conditions.
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of equipment operation, maintenance, and safety protocols.
- Familiarity with training methodologies and adult learning principles.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse audiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with construction equipment.
- Documented experience is required for each piece of equipment for which the instructor personnel is providing training.
- Shall have documented experience in soil stabilization and asphalt placement utilizing grading and paving equipment.
- Shall possess all valid licenses and certifications for the equipment in which they are providing training on.
- Ability to pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous teaching or mentoring experience is highly desirable.
