We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Environmental Litigation Attorney to join our legal team. This is a permanent, full-time position that provides an exciting opportunity for a seasoned attorney to handle and manage complex environmental litigation matters. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is self-motivated, and has a passion for environmental law. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on high-profile cases and make a significant impact on environmental issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of complex civil litigation, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, attending hearings, and participating in trial proceedings.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel on a variety of environmental matters including regulatory compliance, environmental risk management, and environmental policy.
  • Represent the company in regulatory proceedings and enforcement actions before federal, state, and local environmental agencies.
  • Negotiate and draft settlement agreements in environmental litigation matters.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to ensure effective and efficient case management.
  • Stay updated with developments in environmental law and regulations, and provide training and updates to the company on relevant issues.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, industry groups, and community organizations.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental litigation.
  • Admission to the NY state bar is required.
  • Proven experience in discovery and regulatory proceedings.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to advocate effectively in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
  • Comfort with motion practice, discovery, and court or administrative appearances
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity.
