The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
  • Conduct regular EHS inspections and audits of manufacturing facilities and operations to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees, covering topics such as hazard communication, lockout/tagout, and emergency procedures.
  • Investigate all EHS incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Manage hazardous waste programs, including proper storage, labeling, and disposal in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement EHS policies, procedures, and programs to promote a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Maintain accurate EHS records and documentation, including permits, training logs, incident reports, and compliance data.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of EHS experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other federal/state EHS regulations and standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and developing EHS programs.
  • Proven ability to deliver EHS training and foster a strong safety culture.
  • Relevant EHS certifications (e.g., OSHA 30-hour, HAZWOPER, ASP/CSP preferred).

Bonus Qualifications

  • Professional certification such as CSP, ASP, CIH, or CHMM
  • Experience with EHS management software platforms (e.g., Gensuite, Intelex, Sphera)
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or other continuous improvement methodology certification
  • Experience with ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 management systems implementation or auditing
