This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local EHS regulations while driving a strong safety culture across manufacturing operations.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation, and management of safety programs, policies, and procedures. The role will ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment by creating a culture of safety across all levels of the organization. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of safety regulations and a passion for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines.
  • Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety.
  • Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.
  • Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention.
  • Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations.
  • Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions.
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims.
  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities, or new prevention measures.
  • Report on health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS management in a multi-plant setting, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification is desired.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of delivering hands-on health and safety training.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial hygiene.
  • Proven experience with accident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent organizational and motivational skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office; working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus.
  • Valid qualification in occupational health and safety, such as a certificate from the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH).
