Job Description:
- We are looking for a Senior Messaging & Distributed Platform Administrator to provide operational and technical support across IBM MQ, IIB/ACE, Confluent Kafka, TIBCO, and distributed database platforms including Redis and Cassandra. The role sits within the Messaging Production Support Team and requires a strong hands-on operator who can work across both middleware and data layers in a 24x7 enterprise environment.
Responsibilities:
Messaging & Middleware: Administer:
- IBM MQ queue managers, channels, and message flows across Linux and Windows; manage IIB / ACE broker deployments.
- Support Confluent Kafka cluster operations — broker health, topic management, consumer group monitoring, and lag diagnostics.
- Administer TIBCO RV and EMS environments including daemon management, transport config, queues, topics, and SSL/TLS renewals.
- Perform platform upgrades, patching, and configuration changes per enterprise change control procedures.
Distributed Database Administration:
- Deploy and maintain distributed database clusters on Linux — Redis, Cassandra, CockroachDB, and SingleStore.
- Manage Redis replication, eviction policies, and Sentinel/Cluster configuration, tune for performance and reliability.
- Support multiple environments (dev, performance, production) with strong change isolation discipline.
Operations & Automation:
- Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation; lead incident triage and root cause analysis for P1/P2 platform failures.
- Build Splunk and Dynatrace dashboards for messaging throughput, queue depth, error rates, and database health.
- Write Python and shell scripts to automate health checks, alerting, log parsing, and routine maintenance tasks.
- Manage tickets via JIRA and ServiceNow; maintain runbooks and platform documentation.
Experience:
- 7+ years in enterprise middleware administration or distributed systems engineering.
- Production-grade IBM MQ administration — queue managers, clustering, dead-letter queues, security exits.
- IBM IIB / App Connect Enterprise (ACE) deployment and message flow troubleshooting.
- Confluent Kafka production support — broker operations, topic management, consumer group diagnostics.
- 3+ years with distributed database platforms: Redis, Cassandra, CockroachDB, or equivalent.
- Strong Linux / RHEL proficiency; Python or shell scripting for operational automation.
- Experience with TIBCO Rendezvous (RV) and TIBCO EMS.
- Familiarity with meshIQ Navigator and Atrium Orchestrator.
