Enterprise Applications and Cores Manager


Job Summary


The Enterprise Applications and Cores Manager is responsible for managing the implementation, governance, and support of enterprise software solutions related to software project delivery and operational support. This role oversees projects from concept to production, coordinates with cross-functional business and technology teams, and manages vendor relationships for software enhancements, updates, defect remediation, and troubleshooting. The manager plans application roadmaps, serves as a subject matter expert for multiple enterprise-wide solutions, and ensures all supported applications are current and compliant with applicable regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the full development life cycle and operational support for assigned enterprise software solutions.
  • Oversee software installations, upgrades, and configurations for both project and operational needs.
  • Lead and manage a team of technical business analysts and subject matter experts supporting development, projects, and operations.
  • Recruit, develop, coach, and evaluate team members, including performance reviews and career development planning.
  • Foster a positive, engaging work environment that promotes skill development, growth, and alignment with organizational mission, vision, and values.
  • Collaborate with product managers, business relationship managers, vendors, and stakeholders to develop strategies and roadmaps for managed applications.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions, recommend alternative approaches, and lead development efforts to meet timelines with optimal solutions.
  • Provide project management for assigned deliveries, including prioritization, planning, stakeholder management, and tracking external commitments.
  • Instill best practices for software development and documentation, ensuring designs meet requirements and deliver high-quality results on tight schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records for all managed applications, including versions, database structures, and related information systems.
  • Ensure appropriate quality assurance processes for the delivery of software enhancements.
  • Identify and mitigate application availability risks and proactively resolve issues before they impact service levels.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve business application software issues on an ongoing basis.
  • Provide oversight and management of vendor relationships for enterprise applications, including business reviews, service level monitoring, and performance reporting.
  • Ensure adherence to change management policies for all software changes deployed to production.
  • Monitor project progress, remove roadblocks, and ensure upgrades and projects are delivered on time.
  • Identify and support improvements to software development tools, including project management, source control, and related tools.
  • Manage internal and vendor technical resources within budget and delivery schedules.
  • Stay current on new software technologies and best practices in information security.
  • Ensure all applications and systems meet or exceed defined standards for security and availability.
  • Provide and coordinate on-call support coverage during off hours, holidays, and weekends as needed.
  • Maintain awareness of industry best practices for security, standards, and quality, and incorporate them into team activities.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of applicable laws and regulations related to compliance, including bank secrecy and anti money laundering requirements, as appropriate to the role.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of regulatory requirements and risks inherent to job responsibilities, and establish control activities to mitigate those risks within the organization s risk appetite.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills for interaction and technical analysis with staff, management, and vendor partners.
  • Effective analytical skills for preparing recommendations, performing analysis, and supporting assigned functions.
  • Strong adaptability and openness to change to support improved ways of working.
  • Understanding of Agile-based development practices.
  • Manual dexterity to operate computers and standard office equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines, including working extended hours when required.
  • Ability to develop, document, and maintain operational policies and procedures, including detailed technical process flows and performance and quality metrics.
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred;equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Agile-related certifications preferred.
  • Seven or more years of experience in financial or health services, including technical business analysis, application management, project management, product development, or process improvement preferred.
  • Minimum of four years of direct team leadership and supervisory experience, preferably in a financial institution.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment or Azure DevOps ecosystem strongly desired.
  • Knowledge of commonly used financial industry concepts, practices, and guidelines.
  • Experience with enterprise software systems and the ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Ability to analyze and document complex technical business processes.
  • Experience leading projects and directing team members to implement system upgrades and enhancements.
  • Strong PC skills.

Summary Qualification
  • Bachelor s degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience.
  • Seven or more years of experience with enterprise applications in regulated industries such as financial or health services.
  • At least four years of experience directly leading and supervising technical teams.
  • Proven experience managing complex software implementations, upgrades, and integrations.
  • Demonstrated success working in Agile and/or DevOps environments.
  • Strong background in vendor management and enterprise software governance.
  • Comprehensive understanding of security, availability, and compliance requirements for enterprise systems.
